Hi Sleppy, If the glass is sitting squarely then I suggest you silicone it to the frame to stop it lifting,I assume it is an aluminium frame, and make sure the frame is secure. [IMG] You haven't upset the chap in the next allotment have you? :D

Hi Sleppy. Welcome to the forum, I lost 3 panes in the recent winds. It's to do with wind pressure and the amazing thing is the glass is 'sucked' out not blown in. I'm afraid it's just one of the prices we have to pay for living in the UK. You could buy toughened glass which lasts a bit better but is far more expensive.

No Sleppy, only the glass in the frame, you will need to fix the frame down with spikes or drill and screw to whatever the frame is based on.. Earlier wooden putty faced glazed frames didn't have this problem..even with thinner glass. I have worked on very old timber G-houses and never seen this problem. Silicone to glass in aluminium allows movement to compensate the extra 'twist' of the frame.Laminated glass is slightly more expensive thatntoughened but is also more flexible...and safer as it does not shatter. ;)

Pal, not doubting your advice but wouldnt the glazing tape be a better bet than silicone. If the glass breaks its a pregnant dog to clean silicone off.
