    Hi All ..me again
Whats the best position for a greenhouse? Please dont say north by north west cos I wouldnt know my east from my due south. Is full sun all day best? Also I am a tad confused about the types of window material that are available. For instance what is horticultural glass? Is glass better than perspex etc? I am looking to purchase one for next year so if anyone spots any good offers plz let me know. I am limited to space so I need something about 4 x 6 with the depth making up the smaller dimention.
    Cheers

"Please dont say north by north west"

No mate, it isn't North by North-East, it's North-South! At midday the sun should come through the Front, or Back, door.

    "what is horticultural glass"

A nice, cheap, form of glass panes that are good enough for glass-houses. Not strengthened, so won't survive yobs-throwing-stones. But let plenty of light through and are cheap - did I say that already?!

"Is glass better than perspex etc?"

Yes, glass doesn't "fade" - but perspex might survive a yob's-stone.

"if anyone spots any good offers plz let me know"

Set up a search on eBay and get it to mail you whenever there are any matching resutls.

    " I need something about 4 x 6"

Trust me, that is too small.

I think that's an excellent piece of kit. (It has limitations, of course, but they are pretty obvious, eh?)

The problem with a small greenhouse is that it is difficult to get the atmosphere right - a bit like a party that is falling flat on its face.

Its too hot, or too cold, or too humid, or too dry - and I think there is very little that you can do to correct it. Having said that I have always been fortunately enough to have large-ish greenhouses, so I would welcome others telling you how they solve this problem.

If you have no more space in your garden then that is the size that you will have to have.

If "money" is the only thing stopping you having a bigger greenhouse then I would strongly recommend that you find a way to fix that. e.g. consider buying a second hand, larger, greenhouse on eBay and driving and dismantling it and brining it home (some confidence in DiY recommended!)
