Hi. I just said 'welcome' on the blog section. So I'll repeat it where it should be, and once again say 'Good luck' (I used to know the Mandarin for that but I guess I'm getting old.) :D

    Welcome to G.C. Andrew.

I'ave checked out your blog and your wonderful roof garden I'm sure both you and Nana are as pleased as punch with it having your own little Eden in the city.

I dare bet it was really hard work getting all the plants, containers and soil up there!

    Helen.xxx.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome.
Yes Helofadigger the lift only goes to the 14th floor and we are on the 15th. But worth every step.
Cactuslady good luck in Spain...watch out for all those prickles...
Chengjing, welcome to the UK or should I say...goodbye from China?

    Hi Andrew, Welcome to GC!
also fascinated by the Chinese culture, have visited HK twice during the last two years and am hoping to persuade the wife to take the plunge and visit mainland China next year (or wait until after the olympics) Very apprehensive over how the locals would react to Westerners when out of the main cities so interested in your wifes Gold chain episode. Sounds like the bike claim was similar to a small accident I had in Rhodes (mountains out of molehills!)Got on very well with Chinese families I met in Borneo and Singapore but realise they were from the "affluent part of society, will follow your blogs
    regards
