    Hello and welcome Noel.

Which part of Ireland are you from? Such a beautiful country.

Hope to see and hear lots about your garden.

    All the best

Hi Noel. Welcome to GC. You really must compare notes with Whis4ey from Northern Ireland (you don't actually say which part for you) who is our resident acer guy.

Hello guys, I'm based in Kildare and we're fortunate enough to have a good sized garden (3/4 of an acre) and excellent soil.

My wife got me interested in gardening so these days I'm trying to get things moving in the garden. This year, I've planted 10 trees and made 2 new borders (herbaceous and shrub). So I've got the gardening bug really. :)

Vegetable patch is coming on well too. Last year I went a bit mad a grew too many varieties. This year I'm sticking with the basics (potatoes, cabbage, broccoli, peas, carrots, beetroot, onions, tomatoes).

My next purchase will hopefully be a greenhouse so I can start growing my own annuals and perennials instead of spending a fortune at our local garden centre!

    Thanks for the welcomes!

    Regards,
    Noel.

Ahhh ... I visited a stud out there at the Curragh many years ago - and you are so close to my favourite county - Wicklow!

It sounds like you really have your hands full with your plot - and I bet things just grow like mad in your soil.It would be great to have a rundown of the new trees you have planted and maybe some pics of your new borders. Sounds like you are well and truly infected with the disease of Gardenitis Intoxica!

[IMG] to the forum Noel I'm sure most of us will be a little jealous of your plot never mind your great soil too!

I would love to see some pictures of your plot it must be lovely what with it's borders and veggies.
I'm sure you will found out next year what a godsend it is to have a greenhouse of your very own and just how much money you save growing your own plants from seeds.Good luck.Hel.xxx.
