No, but watched a few children being covered and one being showered with buckets of sea water which made me smile - all in good fun. I remember how difficult it was to get out without help as it feels like a ton weight is on you.

Beautiful Jenny - and going by the forecast for the week, it looks as though you will be blessed with sunshine :)

Looks like my kind of place. I must look it up on the map and see if it fits into next year's away mission.

Its well worth a visit @clueless1 - surrounding area (Corfe Castle etc) only adds to the appeal. Not that difficult to get to really either.

I had a look on the map. It kind of fits in with next year's away mission. The only definite (or as definite as it can be) on the plan so far is the Isle of Wight, which has been allocated 2 full days.

We are in BIL's static mobile home , high on a hill looking down over the town and the bay.
I've just taken these 2 piccies from inside the 'van :

and the lovely Swanage bay- takes me 40 minutes to walk down into town. I'm not a strong walker but, if we walk and get a taxi back (£4) we can have a drink with a meal out

We were near the Punch and Judy show on the beach yesterday afternoon, it was the last one of the year. All being packed away now until next Summer holidays. Swanage is a great place for families with much to offer. There's a steam railway line to Corfe and beyond - that's where we are headed today - Sunday roast beef at the Castle pub which has been recommended,

Is it now open to the public all the way to the end? (after the storm damage this Spring)

I hope be up at Durlston Counrty Park and Townsend Nature Reserve in Swanage early tomorrow morning unless I'm waylayed by the builders.
