    At least, it used to be, more like the building site of England now.

    Looking forward to receiving lots of invaluable and erudite advice from experienced gardeners. Am enjoying the threads I have read thus far.

    Yes... I remember field after field of hops,
    acres of apples and pears. Sadly nearly all gone.

    Thanks for your welcome.

    Being pedantic, we have (or had, still some about) hop gardens, not fields. Still some cherry orchards about, & there is always Brogdale, Faversham, which houses the greatest collection of apples in the world - I think.
