Very interesting article, and quite damning of three companies involved:

The Grenfell Tower inquiry is uncovering a major corporate scandal | The Spectator

It would seem that there are a hell of a lot of folks with blood on their hands, who at the least should all be held responsible in some way (corporate manslaughter?); the most disappointing thing in there for me was the the NHBC 'backed down' when they clearly had doubts about the products

From a report I read a while ago, just about everybody involved in the project was at fault (and blames somebody else), which will make apportionment of liability a difficult and lengthy process that will drag on for many years.

That everybody's to blame is the worst result possible, this will now drag on in the courts forever.

I find it very harrowing to read about this, I put myself into the position of those trapped. To find out that the building's fire resistance was seriously compromised by those 'improvements' and worse that the companies knew their products were flammable is disgusting to say the least.

Yes it will drag on for years and result in a white wash.

It is indeed harrowing - I remember the absolute horror as I watched the news from early on that morning. I also think this runs deeper (a lot deeper) than Grenfell if I am honest - corporate responsibility is clearly seen as something balanced off against the P&L and organisations that are supposed to be regulatory or on the customer/client's side are effectively toothless.

In this case it was cladding, but what else is subject to this similar level of irresponsibility? Gas installations? Roofs? Drainage? Or what about our cars, food or drugs? Genuinely worrying
