Just thought I'd let you know I've decided to get a grey water diverter valve to re-use all the bath and shower water in the garden. With the lack of rain I've had and being on a water meter I think it makes sense and this one has a selector on it so easy enough to choose to bin the water down the sewer if I'm cleaning the bathroom:)

Will let you know how I get on with it!

Sounds interesting but how does it work? Do you need extra plumbing to get the grey water into a butt?

Sorry for the delay - I was in Kefalonia!

Its a switchable valve (rotates left or right depending on where you want the water to go) and you insert it inline to the waste pipe outside. In my case its relatively easy access and will involve cutting out a small section of pipe, inserting the valve using the supplied 'cuffs' and away you go. The extra outlet has a hose attached for diverting the water where you want it - butt, direct to garden etc.

Will fit it soon but have come back to a knackered boiler and the previously reliable car has an oil leak... Grrr lol

Ah I see now thanks Andy. I have visions of you dashing outside in nowt but a towel to divert your bath water :lollol:

The heaven's have just opened here in Guildford, thunder, lightening & torrential rain at last - fingers crossed it will last long enough to damp down the dust bowl that is my garden.
