Back in 2013 @Sirius sent me a seedling of Greyia sutherlandii. It was very slow growing last year but it got going this year..................

It has a bit of a lean on! It is only sat there for the photo - it spends it's life in the greenhouse by the door and I wonder if it is troubled by the draught as there is no light issue where it is?

    Starting to branch out too....................

The centre of my attention is here as it's a winter bloomer in its natural habitat.................

In all honesty I reckon I'm about a year away, but when (hopefully) it does it should look like this................

    Big thank you to Sirius!:dbgrtmb:

That's a beautiful flower LongK - and your plant looks really healthy. Keep us in touch with how it gets on.

But the reason that they're rare? It's common in California and very common in SoCal. But it's a winter bloomer in it's natural habitat.
We like a challenge though and I reckon that it's worth the effort if it does bloom.

        One growing in Japan.................

And one in its natural habitat..............
