On 19 Sep, I bought a Groupon buy at £284.99 a refurbished computer
They instantly took the money from my account, So I had paid in full and the money
    received by them
They then said there was a problem with my account ?????
To continue with the purchase I had to send them copies of
My Passport, Driving Licence, Bank Card used for the purchase, Copy of Bank statement
showing purchase, and confirm address with a utilities bill
I initially refused, but told in no uncertain terms that I was not getting my goods or my
    cash refunded
After advising them that this is exactly what my Nigerian friend requested to release the
£200 million pounds my long lost uncle had left me I was not going to do it
I eventually gave in, and provided this information
    Still nothing back
No answer to phone calls, it said unable to accept as voice box was full

I contacted someone on here who is very good, and within an hour had the CEO's names
addresses along with the companies Secretary, name address and full details

I had also gone to CAB and Visa cash back fraud line
Amazing within 24 hours I had the cash back in my account
Nov 26th I got an email from GROUPON saying they were trying to return my monies but
due to VISA and bank could only do this manually once I had returned the money I got back from VISA
Contacted VISA and they intimated it was they who had credited my account so I was not in the Red, and the case was on going (So it is VISA's cash I have)

GROUPON today have said they can not return the cash that is here waiting for me until I return the money I got from VISA

GROUPON confirmed it WAS they who asked for all the confidential information, so that in a way was a relief, BUT I have still after three months not had my monies returned from them

My Children and lots of friends have had no problem with Groupon for small purchases under £50, other than what was on offer was what they found they could have had at the same price anyway, IE:- Nailbar fancy nails, A helicopter ride for myself that never took place due to breakdowns, A ferry cruise to bird Island, only available on days without a Y in them between October and February, Two for one dinners but wine was at 200% of any normal restaurant

Take my advice friends and be cautious of GROUPON

I never had anything that bad with them, but I did angrily close my account with them after 2 purchases in a row that both turned up very late, and were not as described when they did turn up.
