grow bags /tomatoes

    could well be a silly questrion but can i reuse last year's grow bags for my tomatoes this year? Would i need to add any nutrition?

    Grow bags need feeding even if they are this years ones st. george.

    There won't be much nutrient left in last years.

      ok thanks better stop being lazy and get down the shop! whats it best to feed it with?

      I wouldn't re-use grow-bags for tomatoes if thats what you grew in them last year. You can get a build up of pests and diseases in the compost. It's best to start again with new bags.

      There will be enough nutrients in a new grow bag to keep your tomato plants growing until they start flowering. Then feed them with tomorite or the cheaper Wilkos equivalent.

      I always use my old growbags as a mulch around my raspberries etc in the spring or just dig them in to the veg patch in the winter...

      Tesco have (or did a few days ago) a 3 for 2 offer on various garden chemicals, plant foods etc (cheapest one free); I picked up 2 bottles of tomorite with added seaweed and some slug pellets :thumb:
