Hi all, I am wondering if it is possible to grow courgettes sideways (for example out of large holes in a wall etc..) the reason I ask is that I have a small garden but love courgettes and want to grow as many as possible in my small space.
    Thanks

    Hi Nick,

I don't see why not as long as they've got enough root space & you can get water to them.

A trailing variety might be worth a go.

I'd go for a 'patio' variety of courgette. They are specially bred for growing in containers, so they will do better yield wise than a normal variety in a confined space. Your biggest problem would be ensuring you can get enough compost into the hole and making sure you can water it without washing it all out again. They do need a lot of watering.
