Growing in my border

I have recently moved and in the border in the garden this plant has come up. I have been intrigued for some time as to what it is and have been watching it grow over the last couple of months with some curiosity.

It looks like it might be close to producing flowers as there looks to be some buds appearing at the top.

Any help with identifying it would be much appreciated.

Just tried smelling the leaves and have to say it doesn't have any distinctive smell to it.

Interestingly though there is a very similar looking plant also in the border that does look like it may be the Asiatic Lily you mention. I guess I'll know for sure if it flowers later on in May.

I guess my mystery plant may be easier to identify when the flowers eventually emerge. Hopefully that won't be too long.

I thought it was the Asiatic Lily.

 

I can't wait for the flowers to come out now.....I shall definitely get some photos up when they do.

I googled the Asiatic Lily to compare photos with my plant. It didn't look quite right although I imagine there are plenty of variations, so maybe that is what it is after all :D

It looks quite tall compared to the Asiatic lilies I've seen, so it may be the other mentioned plant

 

So, it has finally flowered, photos as promised :yess:





and there's also this plant that has now flowered, any ideas on this please?

wow, lovely lily little green... where are your lily beetles? all my lilies are in shreds :(

think the second one is hemerocallis

 

Maybe the snails ate them

No hang on, they'll be too full up after gorging themselves on my lettuces
