I am looking to have them in my borders next year, currently I have several plants and I am wondering how best to grow more for next season along with a few tips.

Cuttings or seeds and when should they be sown or propagated.

    Thank you.

The pale lilac hardy types grow extremely easily from cuttings. There are more interesting colours, not sure if these are also easy, or how hardy they are.

They need an open position with full sun, I'd have sheets of them if I could provide that.

I do have the lilac variety and I am afforded a full sun position and another position which receives ample sun from 11- late evening sunset

You will probably find that the stems are already putting out short roots even before you cut them off the plant.

I've been trying to grow the hardy species ecklonis and jucundum from seed for a couple of years and wouldn't recommend it! If you've got access to established plants then cuttings are a doddle...
