Hello all - new to this forum, and hoping someone can help. I know that many moons ago I managed to successfully grow perennial garden pinks from seed - the old fashioned type. Here I am now trying to do it again, but am so confused. I ordered seeds to find they describe them as annuals. I have visited websites which on the one hand say that pinks are easy to grow from seed, then others say that they are best taken from cuttings. I am looking to grow such makes as Doris, Grandmother's (favourite - I think) but can't find these as seeds. I know I can find plug plants, but they are about 70-80p each. Can I grow my own, and if so, where do I find the seeds? Thank you for any advice. :dh:

The named varieties like Doris, will not come true from seeds, that is why one is advised to grow from cuttings. small species pinks, like D. deltoides or D. gratianopolis etc. will grow very easily from seeds.
