Corkscrew Hazel sadly will not grow from seed, it has to be grafted on to ordinary Hazel. Hazel nuts, acorns, horse chestnuts and sweet chestnuts are easy enough to find lying round in the countryside (at least they are here) in Autumn.

We have a horse chestnut, now 4m high, grown from seed by the wife. There are also sweet chestnut not far behind. In pots first then a rabbit protected bed then open garden. Walnuts next. All seeds from side of road. Good luck.

We have a collection of chesnut trees all planted for us by squirrels - we save one every year and I love to see them growing.
    Good luck:thumb:

This Oak Tree was one that grew from an acorn fallen from the parent Oak, I dug it up and planted it about 25 years ago. It was planted between the established conifers and has outgrown them.
