Okay, so I've just planted 30 trees at a primary school, where not suprisingly, little feet, fingers and footballs are prevelent! Any suggestions?

Caretaker just wants to put tape round them to make children 'aware' of the trees - this won't protect them.
Head teacher wants a fence erected around the area - this will stop feet and fingers but footballs will still go over the fence and damage the trees.

Please can I have all of your suggestions (with a school budget in mind LOL!) Thank you :help:

Galvanised iron wire mesh 2" square, it comes in a roll so is already shaped. A couple of stakes either side and that should be enough.

    Cheers, Tony.
