Good morning Waco, I see that you have the same problem as several of us do. We talked about it yesterday in Watergardening/Ducks!!, Cobbybrook started it. Have you seen it yet? I think your duck is a goose though, so be careful when you chase him away!

Morning KG - yes he is a canada goose called Edward, but he thinks he is a duck! He guards a pair of ducke that are in our stream, but is a real pain as he pecks our dogs bottome when I try to cross the bridge.

He also frightens the post man away and visitors - I think I really must find a good recepie for goose pie this year!

Try telling the post man that !!! he has both to deal with (damned duck and dogs) - great excuse for not paying the council tax!

Years ago I had thought about having 2 geese for pets and guard-geese into the bargain. I even had names for them, Hector and Henry, even if the one or both were female. I never did get Hubby around to wanting to have geese, so my Hector and Henry are living somewhere else now.

    UPDATE............

we have had terrible problems with post delivery - ie post man scared off by dogs, so have had to have box put on entrance gate other side of river - oh long story about re training post officials!

anyway today, I heard an amusing intercourse between post man, damned goose and dogs, which went as follows.......

Post man had been able to deliver post as goose had prevented dogs from attacking him, goose had attacked dogs rather than post official, so dear Pal, orange sauce is on hold for now!

Its whaen anything crosses the bridge Fran. My sister has this theopry about him atacking the car crossing bridge, she thinks that he sees his reflection in the car, I am not convinced of theory as Martin does not keep the car as highly polished as the likes of BM!
