HDR's working well for you Woo. Are those from multiple exposure originals, or 'pseudo HDR' i.e. single original plus a couple of copies with +/- exposure?

Good evening Dave thank you my friend,Single original plus usually multiple copies +/-exposure,one stop under+original+one over,Have sometimes used camera by taking the same image on 3/5 different(Raw) exposures(Tripod) depending on the available light:)

This is one I had printed off to 24 x 18 inches and framed:)

Okay gentlemen! I said in the other thread I would have to learn as each issue arose. :)

I'm not sure whether I like the images above, they seem to have an 'unreal' look about them. Could you explain what HDR is please. :)

HDR = High Dynamic Range Sheal.
A single exposure from a camera cannot capture the range of light, from very dark to white that can be detected by the human eye and HDR is an attempt to produce an image that is closer to what the eye can see. This is done by taking 3 or more photos at different exposures. In the simplest form there will be one exposure for mid-range light values, one 'over-exposed' and one 'under-exposed' these two will expose correctly for the dark and bright areas. The three photos are then combined using software on a computer to produce a single final image that correctly shows all detail from dark to very light as would be seen by the human eye.
HDR software processing allows a vast range of tweaks to different properties of the image and 'unreality' can occur, though can result in an interesting image

Some cameras offer in-camera HDR. We've a little pocket Sony that uses HDR for back-lit subjects but I think it only takes two photos before combining them but it works quite well.

Complicated subject, but that's the gist of it!

Sheal, this is HDR of a sort taken with our little Sony and combining two images. The scene runs from deep shadow under a tree to very bright sunlight. A normal single shot could not have captured all the detail and would have ended up with blown out highlights or no detail in the shadows. The camera took one shot exposing for the highlights and one for the shadows and then combined them.
