    Hiya everyone,

I hope you're enjoying the (finally) cold weather today!

I have a few plants categorised as H1c: Pelargonium 'Lord Bute', Pelargonium sidoides an another Pelargonium. 3 x Fuchsia triphyllas, Pteris cretica and Cheilanthes tomentosa ferns.

Problem is, I haven't had a chance to put a temporary fleece covered mini plastic greenhouse. So they're going to face a night at 1 - 5C. Will one night at that temp kill them or is it more of a slow death?! I wasn't sure.

Guess I'll find out tomorrow either way - potentially I can rescue a few if I get home in time.

    Jack

Same here @JackJJW a few fuchsias and ensetes stuck in the GH. Hopefully they'll be ok not going to last long this colder weather anyway.

Should be ok but might not look at their best if a frost hits. Mine have been lifted pruned and repotted into small troughs now. But i do live in chilly land.

I've brought in my tender plants tonight (Begonia cuttings), it's going to be cold enough to kill them in one go. It's going to be colder tomorrow night so fingers crossed for you Jack.

Thanks everyone. They're all now tucked up in the plant arc! They seemed to be OK today despite the chilly weather and snow(!)

It's a bit touch and go if they'll all make it anyway as technically supposed to be kept at 10C and they're just in one of those plastic greenhouses with fleece cover. Our garden is very mild inner city though, and it's in a sheltered corner next to the house. We shall see! :)

I'm trying out the cheap £20 green house things. Not pretty but it is storable to be hidden the rest of the year. Plonked a big pot of sempervivums on the bottom shelf for stability and to keep them dry.
