hello,a dear friend of mine recieved a letter from local council the other day telling her that she had 10 days to tidy up her front garden(if you can call it a garden, its 1ft in length by maybe 4ft wide)as it looked untidy.i didnt know about this until her Grandson knocked on my front door with 2 bags bursting with these little beauties- [IMG] "Gran wants to know, do you want these Elaine?"so i rings her up to ask what the crack is and she tells me all about it.she lives in a terrace of 14 houses and she is the only person who has made any effort at all with her little patch,so i say they must have made a mistake.no she says, its definitely addressed to me.i can tell that she is upset and it gets me boiling(shes a very young at heart 64 and has been the greatest freind to me for almost 25yrs)right, i say,ill be over and by the time we`re done the bloody coucil will be sending you a medal for the best garden on the estate!but shes having none of it."no never mind, ill just leave it"this is comming from a Lady who has travelled all over the world with her late Husband who was in the Royal Navy, and has more back bone than Winston Churchill.bloody council.i could strangle everyone of them.

Try phoning your local newspaper Elaine or even one of the nationals. I'm sure they'd love a "Council Chumps Chivvy Pensioner" story. :D :D

I work for a council and i used to be in environemntal health. It was a couple of years agoand we always had loads of complaints about neighbours gardens looking untidy and some of them were well justified with rusting cars, old mangles etc but we couldnt do a thing about it. The only way we could would be if there was food debris causing rodents. If you let me know either here or privately under what legislation they are taking this action I will ask my mateds in that section as they are only round the corner. I suspect it may be something to do with 'britain in bloom' which is coming up soon and they want to win prizes!!!

They probably sent these letters to everyone in the estate, not even bothering to investigate beforehand who did some work on their patch and who didn't, just noticed MOST of it was shabby and thought what the h..., we just send a letter to everyone.
    Easy way out...
