    My local superstore has half whiskey barrels at £25 each/£40 for two is this a good price as I am thinking of purchasing two.:scratch::) Alas they are empty:hehe:

    WOO, when I worked in the garden centre 10 years ago they were retailing at £40 EACH. £40 for 2 is a very good price.:gnthb:

    I paid £15 each for mine but sold them when I came here (for the same )
    Yeah very true Dai ,mine reeked of whisky lol .

    Yes, my local Homebase has got them for that price too and I'm tempted to go and buy. These do certainly smell of alcohol. :D

    I am now the proud owner of two half barrels,Now what can I put in them:scratch:Maybe an Acer of some kind,or a black Bamboo:idea::)

    Good morning everyone could anyone advise of how many holes and what size would be suitable to drill in the base of my half barrels.Thank you:)

    Personally, I'd make them about 2cm (1" in old money) in diameter, I'd put one in the centre then space the rest equidistant at a point half-way between the centre and the outer edge. As for how many, I guess that would depend on the diameter of your barrels, but I'd think 4"-5" apart would be about right?
