    A huge Iron age Hillfort that was later quarried for the Hamstone that has built most of south Somerset. Now a country park.

    Had a wander round as its right near Montacute.

      Great photos Zig.
      I love wandering round places like that when I get the chance. Trouble is, we don't have proper hills round these parts.

      We've walked around there Zigs, there's still a small working quarry up there I seem to recall

      There is John, I was picking up some stone from there, a young Irish lad was leading me to it through all the mud on a horrible rain lashed day.

      I said to him that it was terrible weather and he stopped, turned round and looked right into the window of my soul and said......

            Been to Montacute but not Ham Hill, next time we visit my mum we will stop and have a look.
