Hampton Court Flower Show - a caution!

Ladies and gents, as you will no doubt be aware Hampton Court Flower Show commences with the Royal visit today, and will run for the rest of this week and into next weekend - the weather is gorgeous, so footfall will almost certainly be high; however, there are currently SEVERE delays in the area due to ill thought out roadworks in Kingston.

As I write, there is an approximate 60 minute delay on all approaches (Twickenham, Teddington, Kingston, Sunbury etc.) and as yet I am unable to get confirmation that these works will be cancelled for the remainder of the week.

If you are intending on visiting Hampton Court this week, a few tips:

- Use public transport if you possibly can. If you need any advice regarding bus route numbers or pick up points, please feel free to send me a PM and I will do my best to assist.

- If you have no option but to use your car, consider parking away from the venue and then using public transport to get to it; however, please bear in mind that public transport is likely to be disrupted also if the roadworks continue.

- Take plenty of bottled water with you in case you get stuck in the traffic and have to switch your engine off, this baking heat is sure to give a raging thirst.

In the past hour, I have had confirmation that the bulk of the roadworks will not be taking place this week - however, there will be some taking place tomorrow, and again on Wednesday evening, and lastly Saturday morning. I wouldn't expect delays to be as severe now, however my offer of assistance remains should anyone need.
