    Aaron,

Have a look at Tony Smith's Quilted Velvet garden which contains 30,000 oak trees! I'm delightd that he got a gold as it really must have made the judges think. Also the Leed's Council's Pastures Bye has a wonderful shepherds hut as a centrepiece.

I was up there on Monday as previously I'd helped build the Anne Boleyn garden and had a great time, despite the monsoon conditions. Luckily the Country Living marquee was a great place to shelter, alhough a tempting place to spend money.

Just back from Hampton Court about an hour ago. Traffic there and back was hell, I have a headache and sore throat from chatting non stop with the friend I went with, my feet hurt from walking around all day and I have a sore shoulder from carrying a bag all day...but we had a fantastic day. The weather was great, not too hot and no rain and the gardens, flowers, plants, knick knacks etc were brilliant.

We didn't buy much actually - a lot of the plants for sale were too full in bloom for my liking (and I'v no room at present), plus too expensive! But it was lovely to see some novel garden plans, some of which I might try out and to get some ideas for the garden...and the displays were just brilliant. I did buy some of those excellent metal supports to keep floppy perennials in place - much better than tatty string and bamboo canes! But I could have spent loads and loads of money, without trying very hard at all!

Will definitely be back next year.

I'm glad everyone is enjoying their visit. The only time I went, a few years ago, it poured with rain and they had to close early due to the danger of marquees blowing away in the high winds! I enjoyed what I did get to see though. LOL!

Talk about rain! At least it was better this year than last when it rained all day, we only had one monsoon downpour. Fortunately we were in the Country Living Marquee at the time. Unfortunately, there were lots of tempting things to buy and as I wa with my wife and daughter...!:help:

I loved the "Gothic Folly" people - £4,000+ for a fully built "ruined" gothic folly in your back garden.

Yes Rosa, I slept like a log last night!

They're nice people too Aaron. They supplied me with the window, doorframe and quoins for my Chelsea garden this year. They couldn't have been more helpful, even providing barrow loads of their special mortar mix.

It was our first visiut to Hampton Court and after a dreadful journey down we finally arrived and thoroughly enjoyed the show.
I really loved the gardens and the fashion show was a treat too.
I am so pleased I was able to go.
