I just thought u might like to see what I've got myself involved in now. This is in the local park where i walk the dog everyday. It's a gorgeous park with a beach, childrens play park and lots of green areas. The council has not got the money to spend on it and one of the borders has got a bit out of control so we have set up a community group to work with the council and revamp the border.

I will get some more pics tom and here are the pics after we spent 2 hours at 7am today (we were so keen I forgot to get the before pics :dh: but I will get some from other people)

The council haven't got any money spare for plants but they are providing tools, waste disposal, health & safety help, PR and community consultation and officer time. Our council are very good here and I've been working with them on other projects. I have already had some plants donated as I put a wanted post on Freecycle.

We will be doing some fundraising at a funday that is planned in August and next Sat is the local park fete and I have a stall there which will be used to advertise our new venture and appeal for volunteers and plants.

    Hi LMRR,
Good for you for getting involved and making a difference!

I bet you have had some good fun too. I bet you will get lots of plants offered when people realise what you are doing.
