Does anyone else out there make their own cards? been making a start on my Christmas cards, I know I know ages away yet but have quite a lot to make, looking for inspiration so would love to see other peoples cards.
Cross stitched them all :rolleyespink:a couple of years ago, but last Christmas youngest daughter bought me a Cuttlebug, love it:love30: the possibilities are endless as my OH would say :D.
Here are a few of my attempts so far.

Quite a few of them have glitter on which you can't see very well on a photo.

Joanna Sheen does some great discs catztail, you can print backing papers and pictures on your computer the ones here are from one of her discs called Enchanted Dreams, trouble is when you start you end up with so much stuff:D, can't go out without buying ribbon or stamps from the local craft shop, just love shiney things:heehee:
Take a look at her website www.joannasheen.com.

I did this a go a few years ago, i did go mad and buy all sorts of stuff, but then I moved house, so everything got boxed and put away, and has stayed boxed. That is until one day when i have time to give it a go again or use the bits and bobs in some other way. I prefer to spend my spare time in the garden, so really i need a desk in the garden, then i can do it all together!

One thing i did do which was quite good, was to use flowers from the garden to add to the cards, i dried daisees and lavender and with some fab modern backing paper they looked great!

              Enjoy.

Absolutely beautiful Simbad. My sister, Kedi-Gato (of Germany and Florida) likes making cards, when she is not using the services of Jacquie Lawson. :loll:

Myself, I send very few cards and tend to make my own from photographs I take and make them into e-mail cards.

The problem .. if there is such a thing .. with hand-made cards is that one tends to keep them ... and if you are trying to not keep things as you get older, it is almost painful to dispose of them ... so I have a drawer full of beautiful hand-made cards. :love30:

Is mainly my winter hobby, something to do on those cold winter nights, did do a lot of cross stitch, but only so many walls you can fill with pictures:D, I look at some of the tiny stitches now and wonder how on earth I saw to do them :rolleyespink:

                    They are beautiful Simbad.

A few years ago I cross-stitched all my own cards but it was so 'labour-intensive' that I vowed never to do it again! I'd love to make my own cards - perhaps when I retire? - but, having occasionally watched Create and Craft (I think it's called?) on one of the shopping channels, there seems so much 'kit' you can buy that I'm afraid I may get too carried away - besides, my family history stuff is currently taking up the whole of the dining room table and I keep meaning to put that away - if only I could find somewhere for it!

Thankyou Fidgetsmum :),I have two lots of those plastic 3 tier boxes in the spare room, supposed to be organised, card blanks in one ribbon brads etc in another, but always getting mixed up and can never find anything, spent half an hour looking for my acrylic block the other night because its clear I couldn't find it:D.
At the moment its embossing folders and dies for my cuttlebug sooo many lovely ones, I just want them all :loll:.
Haven't watched the Create and Craft thingy, probably just as well :D.
Hubby started searching his family tree a while ago interesting stuff:thumbsup:.

No. straight up this time. Carved his name on the front & made it fold by drilling & attaching the 2 halves with copper wire loops:)

                        Those look very good simbad.

I have made some in the past, I paint in watercolours when I get chance, but producing lots of cards is just too time consuming, I was planning to do just a handful this year but it won’t happen now. Mrs JWK does cross-stitch ones for a few close friends/family so all the rest including childhood friends I’ve not seen in 50 years and their second-cousin’s teacher’s daughter just get cheap charity cards.
