Yout greenhouse would have to be very strong to be able to hold a hanging basket, CW they are very heavy when the plants are in you put some water in them, is there no way hubby could put a frame of some size for you to hang them, how many are you thinking of, the link above says there are 3 sizes what is the size of yours

I have a hanging basket in mine BUT my g.h. has a metal frame and is very solid. Plus all I have in the basket are Bilbergia nutans in orchid bark. As they are epiphytes they don't need soil. On the other hand, I could probably support a small compost filled hanging basket. It's not the plants that are the problem, it is the water. As you'll know you have to get them pretty wet when the plants get bigger. But until they do....... :D

    Meow Cattwoman.

Assuming you have somewhere to stand them(staging) they will happily stand on flower pots ,the downside is they take up valuable space, but they can be lifted outside on good days. [IMG]

I have one of those portable clothes racks thats about 6ft long on 4 wheels,I have large pots on the base, hang a couple of baskets on the rail and just wheel it outside in the day when the weather is ok.

    hi all

    thanks for your replys

my greenhouse is 6ftx6ft i won't have any floor space available so thats why i wanted to hang them im only doing 5 baskets

there are screw holes going along the metal bar in the middle of the roof so thought they must be there for some hanging reason ?

i thought about screwing some washing line in and then hanging them from there but i don't want to pull the roof in lol

Those £9.99 rails don't look too strong to me to carry hanging baskets, we've got a couple and whilst they're fine for hanging lightweight clothes, they do wobble a lot, I wouln't like to try anything weighty on them.

Mine is more substantial than the one cattwoman is looking at and will hold 2 large hanging baskets and a couple of 18"pots no trouble,in fact I can extend the tube at the end and put 3 hanging baskets on,will try a picture today.

The rack in the greenhouse for a frost free night.

The rack outside a 18" pot and some 10" a couple of baskets I routed out just to show it's sturdy and easy to move.
