7 weeks ago I ordered some rhizomes from the Jungle Seeds sale. They were:-
    Canna Australia
    Canna Durban
    Canna Firebird
    Canna Lesotho Lil
    Hedychium coronarium
    Hedychium densiflorum Assam Orange
    Hedychium KinKaku
    Hedychium Tara

There were some tiny buds on some, but no growth otherwise. I soaked them and put them into a heated propagator in my lightbox on 20 October and a few days ago I had to remove the 4 largest - shown above - as they were pressing against the lights and the roof of the box. Very pleasing - but where do they go now? I think it has to be the sitting room windowsill.

All looking very healthy @PeterS well done.
Hopefully getting my light box sorted after Xmas.
Hope that jungle seeds have a few left by then if not I've got plenty of seeds to start.

Mowgley - so pleased to hear you are getting a light box. They are great fun and really useful.

Strongy - I must thank you for prompting me to do something. The Calthea really has been neglected - it was a bit of a mistake and a nuisance, and is in the wrong place. I have just Googled it, and realised that it would be quite happy to overwinter in my garden room at 10C. So tomorrow its going out there. Oh!, and I have just watered it too. :snork:

Strongy - the Calathea has been cut back, watered and put into the high humidity of my garden room - it says thank you. :blue thumb:

The reason, of course, for showing the pictures - that I meant to add - is that I can't get over how much growth has been made in 7 weeks in winter. Get that box sorted Mowgley.
