Harebell (Campanula rotundifolia) sometimes called Scottish Bluebell.

Photo was taken in the wild on the Links at Elie. Butterfly is a male Common Blue (Polyommatus icarus)

Hairbells are delightfull little plants that will do well in poor soils. They are also hardy and salt tollerant. Their delicate beauty belies the fact that they can survive the strongest gale. In a wild garden probably grown best at the margins with rough annual grasses (fantastic with Bunnytails!) or in a semi rockery position. Perenial, propagate from seed or by division.
