Just bought a new harmonica. £115!
It's just the one I was looking for and have had it about a week now.
I must get around to picking it up and playing it!

It's in the key of C and is chromatic so you can get the notes the are represented by the black notes on a piano.
I don't do the blues, although I had a blues harp once, but couldn't get to grips with it.
I'm not that good, in fact I'm a jack of all trades when it comes to musical instruments, but not a master.

I was going to make a comment that I could never get the hang of all the blowing and sucking, but I don't want to be banned....... [IMG] [IMG] :D

I remember, back in the 60s a comedy harmonica group used to appear regularly on TV. They used to play all sizes of harmonicas. There was a very short chap (he may have been a dwarf or a midget) and I seem to remember he played the largest (bass) harmonica. I wonder if you can still buy these instruments in all the ranges.
I've never tried to play the harmonica and imagine you have to perform all sorts of contortions with your tongue to create the different notes, especially if you want to sound like Larry Adler or Tommy Reilly!

One of my sons was given a set of harmonicas, and it seems a lot more complicated than it looks when you see someone playing so apparently effortlessly.... like most instruments, I expect!

Dendy, you want to try getting one of those frame thingies that goes round your neck and holds the harmonica to your mouth. It would sound great with your guitar [IMG]

I could have a kazoo, too, and a drum on my back operated by a pedal on my foot, oh, and cymbals to bash with my elbows! What a lovely idea!

I've got one of those 'thingys' that hold the harmonica in place. I use it when playing guitar. My party piece is Stranger On The Shore by Aker bilk.
