I have just spent a very pleasant day at the Harrogate Flower Show, which is only a few hundred yards from my house. Not that cheap at £15 (£14 for RHS members), but you can spend the best part day there. Loads of plants for sale, that you won't find in your local garden centre.

And one of the nicest features was a marque with many plant societies, such as British Fuchsia, Pelargonium, Delphinium etc societies. Nothing beats chatting to the experts, which I was able to do for some time as I got there within a few minutes of its opening.

There were loads of specialist displays, and next to them were stalls run by the same people selling the same plants. Also the omnipresent, food, clothes and handicraft stalls etc.

Looks good, Peter, and nice that it's so close by so no transport costs. I have to wait till the end of May for our local Kent garden show and I have my shopping list ready and waiting.
