Has anyone tried perennial kale?

I'm considering getting one (probaly Taunton Deane) but they are not cheap. Is it worth growing?

No idea as to the kale we have growing in our tunnel (from a seed packet with BBC Gardeners World mag) but we have been harvesting it since April last year. Cutting back the stems and then taking the kale allowed the remaining part of the plant to send up new growth and these then develop and we have more kale. So not the same as perennial kale as that seems to be much more robust.

Hi Guy's, yes I have also got cottager's kale grown from seed this year. It seems to be a lot more slug resistant than the curly kale. But the one I am referring to is grown from cuttings because it doesn't flower. I think that is why it is perennial because it doesn't waste energy on flowers and seeds.
I am trying to save myself work as I am getting older and have shoulder problems so I thought I would convert to a sort of forest garden / polyculture garden. I shall have to get some and report how well I am getting on with it!
