So I had some french marigolds which had germinated in the electric propagator. I should have removed them from there sooner than I did but couldn't due to illness so they were a bit leggy. A few looked like they might start falling over.

Today i removed them and wanted to transplant them to their own pots. As it was warm in the sun and because I don't have a greenhouse or shed, I decided to transplant them into pots outside then bring them back into the house.

Tonite they're not looking too good. Some of the leaves look like they have clamped together - basically they look a bit worse for wear.

I don't know whether it was too much of a shock for them going from the propagator and a warm house into the sun outside plus they've been transplanted as well.

Does anyone think they might pick up?

Too early to condemn yet Fern4. I think most seedling transplants go down to start with, just keep them warm and moist but not in direct sunlight. Tagetes are a tough species so I think you'll be OK,

Its Marigold corner here tonight  They should be OK Fern , get them on a windowsill with plenty of light and a bit of warmth . They need to be kept indoors until mid May. Most Marigolds are native to Mexico , so they don't like a chilly UK April day .

Thanks Jenny and Harry. I must get myself a greenhouse and a shed then at least I won't be transplanting seedlings outside. I should have stayed indoors and made a mess in the kitchen! :heehee:
