Has anyone been following the HBO adaptation of George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire?

I wanted to but we don't get sky atlantic so I went out and bought the book. There's 5 in the series so I am going to have to buy the rest now! If it comes on sky 1 or 2 I will be watching it as well. It will probably be easier to follow the story on telly as well! Is the show any good??

      Hey Catztail!

I knew you were a superior poster! :D

Try and track it down if you can or get the boxset when it comes out because GoT has been some of the most extraordinary television Ive ever seen.
Season 1 is more or less book 1. Im almost jealous as you have it all ahead of you! :)

HBO has really outdone themselves. Ice and Fire is a massive tome and yet its adapted very nicely to 15hours of tv.

I spent yesterday cheering on friends competing at Henley, but only lost my voice being geeky about GoT!

Son Number 1 very pleased to have got through at Henley yesterday. He expects today to be much tougher, though. Good luck to you, Melinda!

In the end I couldn't go, but OH went. Unfortunately he hadn't realised his ex had chosen the same day to attend and he spent most of his time trying not to bump into her, like some dismal character in a particularly sad farce. Hey ho! Modern families!

Melinda - they wouldn't dare! :loll:

But I saw it on TV early last week so I supposed it was common knowledge. Sorry! :cry3:

        :) Hey Daisees!

Hope you didnt mind too much! As far as spoilers go, they were pretty huge! :D
Not everyone has seen GoT yet, and Ive heard Sky are planning to run the series on Sky1 at some point.

Being a fantasy geek I absolutely loved GoT! I was worried about the characterisation, but the casting has been flawless, Peter Dinklage as Tyrion has stolen every scene he has been in, and Ive loved the girl playing Arya too.
Charles Dance simply radiates menace and badass-dom.

I found out yesterday that Jerome (of Robson and Jerome) is playing Bronn! I did not recognise him at all.

Scuse me but I am a girl!!! And I edited it myself. :WINK1:

Plus I've watched that episode three times on air ......... so I rather assumed that people posting in this thread had seen it too. :dunno:

And I had to look it up as I could hardly believe it but Greatjon Umber is played by Clive Mantle - Mike Barratt in Holby City and lover of the Vicar of Dibley!

Prince Joffrey - you know you really want to give him a good hard skelp about the head...
The series has so far followed the book very closely (assuming the paperback is the same as my kindle version), and looking forward to S2 in the spring :D
