    I have

I do not mean the time creating the problem, just the time creating the next :)

Now I do not have a wheel barrow, as not much point, my garden is small, and any work after setting it up will not need a wheel barrow

So when I was creating my veg garden from part lawn part border, it involved me removing all the stone pebbles, I had put on the borders,
This involved shoveling into a container, and placing on a small trolley thing I had and dumping it agains the cold dark no sun North wall of the house (ie it would not and never dry out, though that was not the plan, just the punishment in future)
I removed three tonnes of stone pebbles along with the top soil (This was still not the wasted work IMHO )

My youngest daughter has a lawn (yes a real one not a meadow like mine) with a border
Back lawn play area for grandkids, "sunken border", very small wall, patio and conservatory door

The kids run out of the door trample the border, and onto the grass
The decision was, to have 12' of border. 12' of new turf as access and final 12' of border

Now how to raise the middle section of border to grass level

"Ding" I can get rid of my three tonnes of stone pebbles instead of to the tip
dig out the middle section onto a tarpaulin, fill with stones add the soil BINGO

    Now for the wasted work
I have spent a week (over six weeks) riddling the stones, into stones and excellent top soil, all bagged up stones to the tip, soil kept somewhere for future use Difficult, as storing it wet and against a north wall remained wet, so not dry soil to riddle

As my daughters need was only decided on last weekend, I have spent the last three days solid riddling the stones stones in one bag top soil in another

    :-(
I have just realised, that when I add the stones then put on the top soil
The top soil will just sink down with the rain to fill the gaps in the stones

Not all is lost though, I have lost 5Lbs and have arms like Popeye

      Spinach, YUK
When we were kids about ten yrs, My brother spent his pocket money to buy a couple of tins of Spinach horrible

Though I must say as I now do a lot of Italian cruises, Spinach is a main veg, cooked and served a bit like our cabbage, and it is quite pleasant but I could not live on it :-)
UNLESS it came with a Steak fillet mignion

I've wasted more than a whole weeks worth. A short time ago, I made this frame completely the wrong shape!!! How I love useless architects and being self employed.

They got the decimal point wrong when they measured the iron content of Spinage. Its got iron, but about the same as most other green vegetables.

          Getting back on thread......

Three years ago I started stripping wood chip paper from the ceiling in my living room. Bearing in mind the room is 23ft long, after a week and a half I'd got a third stripped, even that was a miracle, it's a devil to remove and it was doing me in - in the process. Two days later part of the ceiling collapsed. Now why didn't it do that before I started! :wallbanging:

The flat roof was leaking and we had to replace the whole lot, roof and ceiling.
