Hawthorn help please

    Hi guys and gals,Can anybody tell me how long it takes for hawthorn to grow to about 6 ft please.Also whats the best feed for them?Thanks vm..daz

    what type of hawthorn is it and how big is it now?

    How tall are they now daz? As for a feed, I would give them fish, blood and bone.

    Hi I have an Hawthorn hedge about Two and a half years old and it is approximately 4ft in height It was just about 2ft bare roots when I planted them I would say In Ideal conditions 4-5
    years Mine is in permanent shade in Clay.Its made a wonderful thick thorny hedge As Daithplant says I feed them on Blood,fish and Bonemeal.Hope this is some help to you [​IMG]

    Thanks guys very helpfull.Here is a video that iv doneits taken from my side looking over the stream at the hawthorns.Thay are whipa about 2 foot high.As you can see im verry exposed which is why i want to grow them asap. [​IMG]

    I`d agree with WOO then daz, 4 to 5 years. you could make a temporary barrier with shade netting, this would also give the plants some protection while they establish.
