Hi all, new here so wanted to say hello initially and to share and ask for help with my mower problem.

I have recently purchased a used Harrier 48, and on closer inspection, found the cable is missing for the (I think it’s called) engine kill switch. It’s the handle that need to be closed in order for the engine to run, spring loaded so if you I:guess trip and let go the mower cuts out.

My confusion is I am completely unable to see where the cable should terminate at the engine.

I'm wondering if anyone can assist and guide me. Maybe with a photo or expiation.

I cant seem to locate any plate on the mower to identify the actual model, sadly so added a couple of images in case anyone may know?

any assistance from the wider group is appreciated, I’m assuming this kill switch is a legal requirement to have too?

    Cheers
    Martin

Likely to link to engine to 'open' connection to ignition when released.ie to start engine it must be 'squeezed' closed at handlebar.Remove plastic engine cover to find where it hooks in, probably on governor on carburettor.Likely to be spring loaded.
        Does engine start ?
        Produced after 2006 probably....

I have a Hayter Osprey, and this is where the 'kill cable' goes on mine.
I think yours has the same Briggs & Stratton engine

Cheers Pete again helpful and thanks for the images, yeah I have an old Hawk I think and it has something like this too but unable to identify anything on the 48, very odd indeed.

I’ll take a closer look in the week and see if I am being an idiot …..

              You're welcome :)
I don't know anything about lawnmowers, but it's a good option.

I'll try and get to my mower to have a look (Harrier 56) but think mine is too new to be of help.

On my previous one (late 90's) I don't remember there being a kill switch. I was able to leave the engine running whilst emptying the box. :noidea:
