I have got the Mother of all headaches today. I got up with it. I have been in the garden having a tidy up , I thought the fresh air would get rid of it but no it's as bad as ever. I think I'm going to have to get some pain killers. I hope I'm not coming down with something, I really don't have time at the moment. I can't even look at the screen as I type this. So I'm off for some pills.
sorry to hear your unwell Lyn with headache theres nothing worse, I get migraines so i know how you feel. do hope your feeling better a bit later
Hi Lyn,sorry to hear about your headache.I sometimes wake up with them and they can go on all day long and don't go until I go to bed to sleep.I try to drink lots of water as a sign of dehydration is a headache as is a lack of food. Sometimes I have to resort to painkillers but don't like taking them unless I have to Also Hormonal problems can cause them as I was told by my Doctor. If I get a Migraine then I have to go and lie down for a few hours and can't tolerate noise or light. For days afterwards my head feels like it is being chisled. I do hope that you start to feel better soon.
Lyn. Have you been checked for migraine? If you can't look at a computer screen even, I DO suggest you see your GP.
You should get it checked out Lyn I was on tablets for years with headaches and the latter of the years I had migraine the tablets were very strong some had codeine in them but all that was doing was giving constipation. I am ok now but I had to retire from my business etc After the first year my headaches had gone, but 18 months after, I started to have them some, being a bit concerned I went to see the consultant again fron Walton, hospital and we tried a new treatment. drink plenty of water like Kandy says, I drink gallons of tea so I had to use Dcaffe tea bags,3 litres of water a day and no chocolate, It is over 12 months now since I last had a headache good luck and take care [ 23. Nathan. I rarely pull rank medically, but I have just reported your last post. I am pretty qualified and do sympathize if you had a brain haemorrhage. But please don't suggest that Lyn has something more serious than migraine. It might even not be that. Let's just ask her to consult her GP. At the moment you are talking rubbish.
Sorry Lyn for replying to Nathan in that way. My own view is that you have migraine. Honestly. I'm ****** good even by email. :D
A visit to the GP is definately recommended, Lyn. From a paramedic who suffers migraines...! I find the codeine very good, but it's not the one for everyone. Personally I get nausea too so have some medication to help that aswell. Hope you feel better soon...
I take a cocktail for my migraines - 2 paracetamol, 30mgs codeine phosphate and a mefanamic acid (VERY old precursor to ibuprofen!) Works pretty good too. Hope you find/found a solution to yours, Lyn.
Thanks everyone. It was a bad one. It did get a bit frightening. I don't like taking pills and did try to work it off in the fresh air in the garden. This only made me feel sick. So had to take something I took 2 parasetamol that didn't really touch it so after a few hours I took 2 Co-codamol 500. It did go off last night, but this morning it is just there if you no what I mean waiting to come back. If it continues I will see a doctor. The problem is a women of a certain age doesn't get taken very seriously I find. It's your age. It's the menopause. Which it may well be, but it still hurts :D I have never suffered with really bad heads or migraines before lets hope it's a one off. I do get synus trouble so it might be that. I don't think I am going to have a brain haemorrhage. But I can see how someone could think it was that but I'm not the type to jump the gun. Thanks again for your concern.
Lyn do you wear glasses you may just be needing a re change of glasses. Maybe even a bit stresses can bring on headaches or just simple like this nasty virus going its rounds whcih I had last week now my h is floored really bad with it . Got the headache sore throat ec. Take care but it it still bothering you next week hope you go to your Doctor. Will pm you later to check .
Hi Lyn,glad to see you back I am not medically trained like John so can't tell you what I think it is or what to take as that would be wrong, but when I have had Migraines in the past for several days afterwards my head still feels like it is splitting and I still feel rough before it gradually goes off. :( I found that the stress in my job would bring mine on and touch wood since I got rid of that stress I have never experienced another one As Skotkat says you might need a change of glasses and also a break more often from staring at the computer screen. They reccomend a break of so long per hour, but like me you are probably not on the computer for that long.. I do hope you feel much better soon but if it carries on then take Johns advice and go and seek medical help
Lyn I am sorry if I gave the the wrong impression on migraine problem, I was just saying what medicine I was on, Thank you for reporting me Saraceniac I didnt realise that I caused the worry not intended, thanks
Whoops I didn't mean to cause any trouble. I only posted about my headache because I was home alone and feeling a bit sorry for myself. I'm sure it's nothing.
