Would be nice to have 22 at the weekend. I’m working Saturday then off to see a old customer who I visit every 2 weeks for a cuppa and a chat.

Hottest place I can find is Heathrow, where temps are going up to 21° C.

              That's the place to go!

I expect it to reach at least 74F in our main garden on Sunday. We'll see how it goes. :)

After seeing Scrungee’s photo I can see now why Mr Kandy prefers to have his holidays in this country:snorky:

We had 2 weeks in Snowdonia in May and had a heatwave,The Malverns in July and had another heat wave and another two weeks in Somerset and although we had a bit of rain overnight at times we had another good 2 1/2 weeks in shorts and T.shirts so we have had a good summer, but don’t know about anyone else:biggrin:

I'm guessing we will get to see the pics??:)

I think weather is a very personal thing when it comes down to what people like or class as good.

Often it doesn't come up to our expectations regarding summer weather.
I tend to think of the best summer I can remember, eg 1976 , and use that as a yardstick, probably totally the wrong thing to do, but I'm still waiting for a better one:snorky:

Even this thread points out we all have different ideas of what constitutes a heatwave:smile:

It's a pleasant 26C here with clear blue skies and sun. Much nicer than the searing heat in summer with the added bonus of the soil being damp and workable...bliss!

"Heatwave", of course, is relative. It would be odd if we had temperatures in the 30's.
Point is a few days of unusually warm pleasant weather is in store for most of us. Whether that means 18 degrees or 25 it surely is going to be appreciated by us, isn't it? :)
Personally, I am looking forward to it:yay:

Well, the forecast for the weekend (temperature wise) isn't much different from the temperature today. The primary difference being ... the wind factor plus the damp stuff!

Now, if the weekend means the same temps but no wind or wet stuff ... what a fab time for those final cuttings, leaf raking, weeding (which is much needed after the mild start to the Autumn) and a chance to grab a few rays of Vitamin D into the bargain ... bring it on! What to call it? Heat wave? Possibly not in the strictest contest; a blessing? Oh, most definitely for this time of year :blue thumb:

Now ... where did I put those secateurs again? :dunno: :heehee:

I remember that too Pete. A most uncomfortable summer for me as I was expecting my first child all the way through it, the heat broke a week after I had my daughter with thunderstorms and flooding.:)

                            I don't think there'll be a heatwave up here, 15/16C probably but I'm not complaining. :)

I remember 1976 very well - too darn hot! :phew:

But I also remember the 1959 heatwave when the temperature topped 97F (36C) :rolleyespink:
