I have pink and blue hebe bushes and have had them about 4 years or so and this year they have been attacked by something, there are not many leaves on them (seemed to go brown and die off) and what leaves there are are very small - I've removed all the dead growth and there are quite a lot of new growth beginning to shoot.
This has never happened before, do you think it was late frosts or some disease?. Would a general feed help or is it ericacous food they need?
Any replies would be gratefully received. Thanks.

It was a very long cold winter. Most Hebes are not completely harder and can be killed off in really severe weather. It rather sounds as if your hebes have suffered a little bit. If the leaves were just nipped by a late frost they should recover allright. I hope they will be allright for you.
