Today our gardener came in to cut the hedge. The boss gave him his instructions and he set about it. He completed the bit down the side of the lawn and across the bottom to the gate, then did the rest of the outside of the hedge. What a job. The CEO wanted it taken back to the property line which for most of the job meant removing 2 feet of thickness from the hedge. And it is six feet plus tall. He had to make two trips to the council tip with the large van loaded to the gunwales. In the hedge, we found bottles of all types. Glass beer bottles, juice bottles even glass milk bottles. They must have been there for years. There were cans galore, even an unopened can of Carlsberg! Along with tons of plastic bottles, there were coffee cups, a pair of flip-flops and a black bag with something squidgy in it. No one looked to see what it was.
He is going to have to come back towards the end of next week to trim the top and inside of the main part as that will take another half day.
The cost for today's work was £295. That was for 9 hours work plus two council charges at the dump (commercial business).

The only before I have is Google Maps and I have not taken any today since it was cut. It looks hideous and will do for the rest of the summer. Inside, the bit we see, looks great though.

I have no idea. To me, a hedge is a hedge. Perhaps this will help.

The boss tells me it is a Privet. With Hawthorn, Honeysuckle and Ivy through it (courtesy of bords and other wildlife).
