I have a hedge of ilex meserveae (blue prince). Over the winter do I continue to feed it or leave it alone ?.

If I need to leave it alone, how long for? thanks

    I presume its recently planted.
There is very little to be gained in feeding plants that are dormant or at least no growing. If you feel you need to feed, then probably from april onwards, would be a good idea, up until say August.
Once established I would not have thought any feeding programme was really needed

I only give mine a general purpose feed before the new growth begins in the spring.

I have quite a long privet hedge, and when I planted it many years ago, I used a little compost 'in' with the existing soil and I have not directly fed it since, and it grows really well.
    Happy New Year.
