    Hi
I have a very small helleborous (like about one leaf)in my greenhouse and I was wondering whether I could plant it out yet?

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks
    Stingo

I would get it outside to enjoy the weather - but leave planting it til there's another leaf - think slugs and snails. :D

Hellebores generally struggle in my garden, hang their heads and look sad. This year they have been great and so have the euphorbias. Terrific flowers and standing up bright and bonny! Perhaps it is because this winter was drier than usual and my soil didn't waterlog for once. Tree blossom has been fantastic too despite some severe and late frosts. Funny old game this gardening lark.

[IMG] Hi Stngo, I would keep it in a pot outside for the summer, but be careful not to let it dry out completely.
My Hellibores were a picture this year. These are a couple of photos I took earlier in the year.. [IMG]

Harvington shades of the night one of my favourites just started growing helebores in my garden last year.So easy to get hooked they are beautiful.
This was taken Feb of this year when we had a bit of snow.
She has got a bit big for the spot she is in, I would like to divide.
When is the right time of year to do this please?

Wow what a lovely flower, I would love one that colour.

I'm not an expert but I don't think they like to be divided. Lets see if anyone else really knows.

I bought a Helleborus last November and planted it outside just before it snowed. It hasn't stopped flowering since.
