hello all

ide like to say hello to everybody,im a newby here , im really hoping to learn something about gardening ,ive not had a garden before and having just got one with a massive veggie patch so im keen to get started, i allready have a cooking apple tree (it came with the house lol) and i want to start growing strawberrys and tomatoes in the house ,can somebody help me get started ? also ive just brought a grape vine and miniture fruit trees and would dearly love to know what to do with them .thankyou so much to anybody that replys . also when do i need to plant veggie seeds in the garden ie carrots ,cucumber,spring onions ect (stupid i know) but they allsay differnt times thankyou

 

Well sounds like you're gonna be busy.
Strawberries you can plant this year later on but you wont get any fruit till next year.
Tomatos need to be sown April for outdoor growth but can be sown earlier to be grown under glass.
What variety of grape is it?
What are the miniature fruit trees?
Veg can be planted from mid March onwards but it depends a lot on the weather and soil tempreture.
Dig the ground over and when you see weed seeds germiating the soil is warm enough.
Cucumbers outdoor ridge types need to wait till at least May.
They all say different times because some are more tender than others.

 

hello pete2255 and thankyou for replying ,thats very helpfull . My miniature trees are apple and pear ,dont know what kind tho sorry ,allthough the grape is a white grape im must say im not sure about that either (im no good am i lol),all i know is that its from belgium ! however it does say vitis vinifera on the box but not knowing the language that could say anything .It is apparently in a "dorment state" and when the time comes im supposed to prepare where its to be planted (i know that bit lol),then soak its roots in water and plant it where i want it to be ,does that sound about right ?? i must say that not knowing about stuff like this it actually looks dead but ive been assured that its not , also i think its saying to plant it inbetween june and september ,does that sound ok ? Also my little fruit trees ,at the mo ive got them in the house at night and sunning themselfs on the patio during the day (when we have sun ,is that ok or sould i keep then inside all the time ,i must say i havnt yet invested in a green house , im not sure ide know what to do with 1 yet ! thanx once again for your help ,i know i have some really silly questions and im sure ill have many more yet !

 

OMG im at it again , theres no stopping me now lol.
ive been out today and brought a raspberry cane ,its only about 10inc high and its a Malling jewel , my idea was to plant it at the side of the house allong with my allready growing blackberry bushes,they were here when we moved in ) ,however its a little shady and has a covering of pepples ,do you think this would be ok or would it do better in a sunner spot ? thanx
