    Hello,

I am new on here and am here and am in need of some plant advice. I ahve just moved into a new house and have noticed a plant that looks a bit ill. I dont know what plant it is. Majority of the leaves have the[IMG]se bubbles on the top of leaves and under the bubbles on the reverse of the leaf it has a white powder. Should I cut this back or just cut the leeaves...help?

    Eloise

Ive added a pic, not sure if I have done it right though? P090811_19.00_[01].jpg P090811_19.00_[01].jpg

Good evening Eloise and welcome to the site.:dbgrtmb: The plant looks like Acer campestre, common name, Field Maple. Not sure what the bubbles are, but the white powder sounds like botrytis/powdery mildew. Treat with a systemic fungicide. How big is the plant? Because it looks like a self seeded weed to me, rather than a part of the garden planting.

Dai, I think you're right about the disease but the blisters look like the effects of a gall mite, have you got a book to see if you agree??

Hi Eloise, the bumps are called leaf galls, caused by a tiny mite. Personally I'd remove the whole plant as it just looks like an uninvited visitor to your garden i.e. a weed.
