:yay: or rather 'Bonjour' from sunny SW France. I'm trying to turn a sloping French field into a garden, and really miss the know-how and friendly camaraderie of UK gardeners....

Hi Jenny, the departement is called Lot-et-Garonne after the two rivers that cross it. It's fruit-growing country, with acres of plum, peach, cherry, apple and nut trees:yes: Oh and vineyards of course:blue thumb: My field is about 100kms south-east of Bordeaux on a south, south-east facing slope. Although there are small woods all around it, I couldn't bear to shut out the views by planting a shelter-belt, so the types of plants that thrive are limited until I get some trees established. I never thought that I'd miss shade.....
        Photos to follow shortly:)
