Hello from an excited but (reasonably) clueless gardener!

    Hi All,

    I have a smallish garden and am currently undertaking two projects. One is hedging to block out a busy road and the other is a raised vegetable garden.

    I realise these sound like basic everyday projects to you experienced gardeners, but they have proved/are proving challenging to me. Hence joining this forum to try and get some specific advice on moving forward.

    My hedge project has begun. I have planted 30 trees and I am pleased to say it looks like there has only been one fatality(!). My veggie garden hasn't yet happened, and I think this will now be a project for the Autumn in readiness for next year. I have to say that the hedge planting is one of the most exciting bits of gardening I've ever done. Sad I know, but there you go.

    Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting to know a few you over the coming months.

      Hello and welcome :-) i don't know much about hedges but i did create myself a raised veg garden two year ago and can recommend linkaboard kits

            Hi WBG ....being a new member myself you have Deffo come to the right place for help :) its great :yay:...I'm not planting any hedges at the mo but might be in near future, will have to watch your progress :dbgrtmb:, I am however growing my first veggies... Very protective over them :th scifD36: ..... So good luck when you start your new project and hopefully will get to see some photos :spinning:

              I am sure you will get plenty of advice and support - the ladies and gents here are the best you could choose to meet. Don't let a lack of experience put you off either, we all find some things that we do in the garden a bit daunting at times.

              We love photos here, not least as they let us help you more, but also because we are nosy blighters :biggrin:
