    Hello,

What a great site this is ! So much information.
My name is martin and I live in Derbyshire. I have been interested in gardening and plants for many years now. Until we moved house two years ago I specialised in Alpines, Bulbs and unusual perennial and woody plants. I grew most things from seed provided by various society exchanges and from subscribing to seed expeditions. Well, all that has changed now. I decided to go back to more conventional/traditional gardening. So, delicious Dahlias, pretty Pelargoniums, marvellous Marigolds, a richness of Roses and an abundance of annuals now grace my garden along with a backdrop of shrubs and small trees. I love the variety and colour now, plus I no longer cosset and cuddle some unpronouncable from the Himalayas or the Andes. One thing for sure though, the years of growing this sort of thing does give you knowledge and experience to grow, dare I say, lesser mortals better.

    Martin.

Hi there Martin welcome to the forum as you will see we are indeed a nice friendly bunch and we loved to hear and see other's gardening adventures.

I'm sure you will be able to give us plenty of advice and helpful tips to help us all along the way. [IMG]

Your new/old style seems pretty much the same as my front garden as it's done in a traditional old school style a few little shrubs and loads of annuals... it's got the winter flowering pansys and primroses in at the moment.
