Hi, my wife and I recently moved back to the Isle of Wight after 20 years in Scotland. The gardening potential is much greater here and during this year we've been getting more adventurous. We're not short of ideas after spending last (UK) winter Wwoofing in Australia and Tasmania. But we are short of the skills to make all our gardening projects a success.
So I signed up here in the hope of getting some advice and sharing some ideas with the folks on the Gardeners Corner forum.

    Regards and best wishes,

    Tony

      Hallo Tony,
:sign0016: to Gardeners Corner on this somewhat soggy afternoon. it will help us if you can describe, or post pictures of your garden. Need to tell us what type of things you want - in relation to your soil and how sheltered you are. Others will be along soon to say hallo,
      meanwhile, have a wander ,
      lots to look at,
      Jenny namaste

Thanks Jenny for the encouraging response. I'd like to post some pictures of our garden. Should I do this in a post or should I put them in the gallery? Maybe I should know the answer to this by having read a primer on site protocol. I'll go and look for that.
      Thanks again,

      Tony

In a post is fine :) You might find that you need a few more posts and at least one like (which you now have ;)) before you can post a picture.

Uploading is fairly simple, straight from your PC - just click on the 'Upload a File' button then browse for the file. There is even a photo editor if your image is too big to upload.

Thanks all for the cheerful welcome. This seems like a great place to learn and share.
I look forward to taking part in the various threads. I'm quite the novice though.

Fear not - experience level doesn't matter - I'm still pretty much a newbie to gardening myself, as its only been a few years. You will get lots of honesty, help, advice and probably get sent seeds and cuttings to boot. Just remember, the only silly question is the one you don't ask :dbgrtmb:; you'll hopefully get a few laughs along the way too; this is one of the few gardening forums that stays alive throughout the winter
